Up2Us Sports announced this week that ESPN Analyst, Reporter & Host Monica McNutt has joined the organization as an Athlete Ambassador.
“I’m all about the power of sport for young people but I do think lost in that conversation is how we support our coaches and leaders to meet the needs of these young people,” said McNutt. “Up2Us Sports is proactive in doing that work and I am proud to work with them.”
Monica can be seen on ESPN’s flagship programs including SportsCenter, First Take, Get Up and Around the Horn to name a few. She is also a host and analyst on ESPN’s WNBA and Women’s College Basketball studio coverage. She was named as one of the 2023 NBA announcers for the ESPN Christmas Day telecast, a role she also held in 2022. Prior to the 2023-24 season tipoff, MSG Networks announced McNutt’s role as the primary New York Knicks radio analyst, calling the majority of Knicks games on 98.7FM ESPN New York.
As a former women’s basketball standout player at Georgetown University - a team member of fellow Up2Us Sports Ambassador Sugar Rodgers - she is able to pull from this experience to offer her perspective in the daily sports conversations. Her versatility in the media landscape affords her the unique opportunity to extend beyond linear traditional roles to thrive in the digital space. Above all, her passion is mentoring young women and girls while being a shining example to those watching her. She uses her voice to amplify the work of the NYC based nonprofit Grow Our Game, in addition to her recent appointment as an Ambassador for Up2Us Sports.
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Monica earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in 2011 and earned her master’s degree in journalism from The University of Maryland in 2013.
